Animal study

Pentadecapeptide BPC 157, in clinical trials as a therapy for inflammatory bowel disease (PL14736), is effective in the healing of colocutaneous fistulas in rats: role of the nitric oxide-system

Klicek R, Sever M, Radic B, et al. Journal of Pharmacological Sciences 2008;108:7-17.

What it found

Fistulas between the colon and the skin closed faster with BPC-157 by either route, whether nitric oxide production was blocked or boosted. A steroid comparator made healing worse.
