Reconstitution calculator

Enter the milligrams in the vial and the millilitres of liquid added. The calculator gives the concentration and converts any amount you type into millilitres and U-100 units. It does not suggest an amount. How the maths works.

Reconstitution calculator

Arithmetic only. It assumes the vial holds exactly what the label says.

How the calculation works

  1. Concentration = milligrams in the vial ÷ millilitres of liquid added. A 5 mg vial with 2 mL is 2.5 mg/mL, which is 2,500 mcg/mL.
  2. A U-100 insulin syringe holds 1 mL in 100 units, so one unit is 0.01 mL. At 2,500 mcg/mL, each unit holds 25 mcg.
  3. Volume for an amount = amount ÷ concentration. Multiply the millilitres by 100 to get syringe units.

What it does not do

It does not suggest an amount: the amount field starts empty and takes your own number. It assumes the vial holds exactly what the label says, which only a certificate of analysis can confirm. For the doses that published studies used, see each peptide page or the dosage chart.
