Therapeutic potential of pro-angiogenic BPC157 is associated with VEGFR2 activation and up-regulation
Hsieh MJ, Liu HT, Wang CN, et al. Journal of Molecular Medicine 2017;95:323-333.
What it found
BPC-157 increased the growth of new blood vessels in chick embryo membranes and in cultured human endothelial cells, and sped up blood flow recovery in rats with a blocked leg artery. It raised the VEGFR2 receptor and switched on its VEGFR2-Akt-eNOS pathway.
Limitations
Short-term models in eggs, cells and rats. Independent group in Taiwan.
