Peptide Selank Enhances the Effect of Diazepam in Reducing Anxiety in Unpredictable Chronic Mild Stress Conditions in Rats

Kasian A, Kolomin T, Andreeva L, et al. Behavioural Neurology 2017;2017:5091027.

What it found

Without stress, a course of any of the test substances made anxiety measures worse, least so with Selank. Under chronic mild stress, rats given Selank plus diazepam had anxiety scores similar to their pre-stress values. Selank alone was most effective against the rise in anxiety seen after the course of test substances.

Limitations

Rats only, one behavioural test (elevated plus maze). From the Institute of Molecular Genetics, Moscow.
