Simultaneous quantification of TB-500 and its metabolites in in-vitro experiments and rats by UHPLC-Q-Exactive orbitrap MS/MS and their screening by wound healing activities in-vitro

Rahaman KA, Muresan AR, Min H, et al. Journal of Chromatography B, Analytical Technologies in the Biomedical and Life Sciences 2024;1235:124033.

What it found

In rats, TB-500 was broken down mainly to Ac-LK in the first hours, and Ac-LKK was detectable for up to 72 hours. Neither TB-500 nor its breakdown products harmed fibroblasts in culture, and only one breakdown product, Ac-LKKTE, sped up wound closure in a cell test.

Limitations

Rats and cell culture; mainly a drug-testing method study from a doping control lab. Authors declared no competing interests. The wound test was a scratch assay in a dish, not a wound in an animal.
