A randomized, placebo-controlled, single and multiple dose study of intravenous thymosin beta4 in healthy volunteers
Ruff D, Crockford D, Girardi G, et al. Annals of the New York Academy of Sciences 2010;1194:223-229.
What it found
Adverse events were infrequent and mild or moderate, with no dose-limiting toxicity and no serious adverse events. Blood levels rose in proportion to the dose.
Limitations
Tested the full 43-amino-acid protein, not the TB-500 fragment. Small phase 1 study in healthy people, short duration, safety only.
