Vitamin C-linker-conjugated tripeptide AHK stimulates BMP-2-induced osteogenic differentiation of mouse myoblast C2C12 cells
Jung JI, Park KY, Lee Y, et al. Differentiation 2018;101:1-7.
What it found
A vitamin C-linked AHK peptide increased the growth of mouse C2C12 cells and boosted their BMP-2-driven change into bone-forming cells, with activation of Smad1/5/8, ERK1/2 and p38 signalling and no significant toxicity.
Limitations
A different molecule: the AHK peptide is linked to vitamin C and carries no copper, so results do not apply directly to AHK-Cu. Mouse cell line only. One author is from a company (CHA Meditech).
