Pulsatile secretion of growth hormone (GH) persists during continuous stimulation by CJC-1295, a long-acting GH-releasing hormone analog
Ionescu M, Frohman LA Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism 2006;91:4792-4797.
What it found
Growth hormone pulses kept their usual frequency and size, but trough (between-pulse) growth hormone rose 7.5-fold, mean growth hormone by 46% and IGF-1 by 45%. The two doses gave similar responses.
Limitations
Small study in healthy men aged 20-40, before-and-after design without a placebo group. Used the DAC version (described as binding to albumin, half-life about 8 days).
