Once-daily administration of CJC-1295, a long-acting growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH) analog, normalizes growth in the GHRH knockout mouse

Alba M, Fintini D, Sagazio A, et al. American Journal of Physiology-Endocrinology and Metabolism 2006;291:E1290-E1294.

What it found

Mice lacking GHRH that received CJC-1295 daily reached normal body weight and length; dosing every 48 or 72 hours improved growth but did not fully normalise it. Pituitary RNA and growth hormone mRNA rose, with signs that growth hormone-producing cells had multiplied.

Limitations

Genetically GHRH-deficient young mice, a model of growth hormone deficiency rather than normal physiology. Used the albumin-binding (DAC) version.
