Activation of the GH/IGF-1 axis by CJC-1295, a long-acting GHRH analog, results in serum protein profile changes in normal adult subjects
Sackmann-Sala L, Ding J, Frohman LA, et al. Growth Hormone & IGF Research 2009;19:471-477.
What it found
Two protein spots (an apolipoprotein A1 form and a transthyretin form) decreased and three increased (including beta-hemoglobin and albumin fragments). One spot correlated with IGF-1 levels. The authors propose these as possible markers of growth hormone or IGF-1 activity.
Limitations
11 healthy young men, no placebo group. A biomarker study, not a test of benefit or safety. Used the long-acting DAC version.
