Pineal peptides restore the age-related disturbances in hormonal functions of the pineal gland and the pancreas

Goncharova ND, Vengerin AA, Khavinson VKh, et al. Experimental Gerontology 2005;40:51-57.

What it found

In old rhesus monkeys, epitalon was followed by higher night-time melatonin, lower fasting glucose and insulin, and a better response to a glucose load. Young monkeys showed no change.

Limitations

Small primate study; group sizes not given in the abstract. Co-authored by Khavinson.
