Tripeptide-copper complex GHK-Cu (II) transiently improved healing outcome in a rat model of ACL reconstruction
Fu SC, Cheuk YC, Chiu WY, et al. Journal of Orthopaedic Research 2015;33:1024-1033.
What it found
At 6 weeks both GHK-Cu groups had less knee laxity than saline, and the 0.3 mg/ml group had a stiffer graft. By 12 weeks there were no differences, and failure load, gait and histology never differed.
Limitations
Rats. Benefits were temporary. Injection into the joint, which is not the same as injection under the skin.
