In vivo stimulation of connective tissue accumulation by the tripeptide-copper complex glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine-Cu2+ in rat experimental wounds
Maquart FX, Bellon G, Chaqour B, et al. Journal of Clinical Investigation 1993;92:2368-2376.
What it found
Wound chambers injected with GHK-Cu accumulated more dry weight, protein, collagen, DNA and glycosaminoglycans than saline controls, in a dose-dependent way. Type I and III collagen messenger RNA rose. A control tripeptide had no effect.
Limitations
Rats, artificial wound-chamber model. Injection into a local chamber, not general injection.
