What it found
Short infusions raised LH, FSH and testosterone in proportion to dose. With continuous infusion for 5 days, testosterone stayed raised but LH and FSH returned to levels similar to vehicle. Daily 8-hour infusions kept LH, FSH and testosterone raised over 12 days, and the body still responded to a bolus at the end.
Limitations
15 healthy men split across three sub-studies (4 to 7 each); single-blinded. Not a test of any clinical benefit.
