Kisspeptin administration to women: a window into endogenous kisspeptin secretion and GnRH responsiveness across the menstrual cycle

Chan YM, Butler JP, Sidhoum VF, et al. Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism 2012;97:E1458-E1467.

What it found

All women in the luteal and preovulatory phases had an LH pulse right after the dose, but only about half of women in the early follicular phase had a clear response, and a higher dose did not help. Unlike in men, it did not appear to reset the GnRH pulse generator.

Limitations

Small groups per cycle phase (3 women in the preovulatory phase). Single doses.
