What it found
LH rose in women in the early follicular phase, in postmenopausal women and in women with progestogen implants, but not in women on the combined pill. FSH rose only after menopause. Responses were largest in postmenopausal women.
Limitations
10 follicular-phase, 6 postmenopausal and 8 contraceptive users. Acute single-dose responses only, as the authors note.
