Exogenous kisspeptin administration as a probe of GnRH neuronal function in patients with idiopathic hypogonadotropic hypogonadism

Chan YM, Lippincott MF, Butler JP, et al. Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism 2014;99:E2762-E2771.

What it found

None of the 11 people with ongoing congenital GnRH deficiency responded to kisspeptin with an LH rise, whatever their genetic cause. One man whose condition had reversed responded strongly.

Limitations

12 participants. The abstract says "kisspeptin" without naming the form; the same group used kisspeptin-10 at this dose in other studies. A diagnostic physiology study, not a treatment trial.
