What it found
In a cross-sectional study in Qatar, blood MOTS-c was lower in people with type 2 diabetes than in controls, and lower levels went with higher HbA1c, higher glucose and older age.
Limitations
One-time measurement; cannot show whether low MOTS-c is a cause or a result of diabetes. Says nothing about giving MOTS-c.
