Clayton AH, Althof SE, Kingsberg S, et al. Women's Health 2016;12:325-337.

What it found

For the 1.25 mg and 1.75 mg groups pooled versus placebo: satisfying sexual events rose by 0.7 versus 0.2 per month, the Female Sexual Function Index rose by 3.6 versus 1.9 points, and the distress score fell by 11.1 versus 6.8 points. Side effects were nausea, flushing and headache.

Limitations

Premenopausal women with female sexual dysfunction. Efficacy data for 327 women. The absolute gain in satisfying events was small. Several authors were employed by the developer.
