Try other volumes of water: the concentration and the units per amount change with it.
Arithmetic only. It assumes the vial holds exactly what the label says.
| Liquid added | Concentration | Per unit |
|---|---|---|
| 1 mL | 10,000 mcg/mL | 100 mcg |
| 2 mL | 5,000 mcg/mL | 50 mcg |
| 3 mL | 3,333 mcg/mL | 33.3 mcg |
Epitalon is a synthetic four-amino-acid peptide (Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly) modelled on a pineal gland extract and studied mainly by one Russian research group for effects related to ageing. Its evidence is mostly from cells and animals, and it is not FDA-approved.
A 10 mg vial holds 10,000 mcg of Epitalon. Adding 2 mL gives 5 mg/mL, so one U-100 unit (0.01 mL) holds 50 mcg. To get the units for an amount, divide it by 50 mcg. The units are a volume mark on the syringe, not a measure of potency.
Vial coverage by mass: 2 full amounts of 5 mg per vial, before any handling loss.
If a different volume of water is used, every unit figure changes: recalculate with the calculator above.
The human reports we could verify all come from the Khavinson group and give few methodological details in their abstracts:
Verdict: there is no reliable human evidence that epitalon slows ageing or improves any health outcome. The available reports are small, from the developing group, and not independently replicated.
Every study dose, including animal and cell studies, is in the Epitalon dose table.
Side effects and safety in people are unknown: there are no modern controlled trials, and data on how the body processes it are lacking (Jain 2026). In its compounding review, FDA said compounded epitalon may carry a risk of immune reactions and impurity problems and that it had not identified safety information for the proposed route.
There is no single correct volume: it only changes the concentration. For a 10 mg vial, 1 mL gives 10,000 mcg/mL, 2 mL gives 5,000 mcg/mL, 3 mL gives 3,333 mcg/mL. More water makes small amounts easier to measure; less water keeps volumes small. Whatever volume is used, write it on the label.
On a U-100 syringe, 100 units = 1 mL, so one unit is 0.01 mL. How much peptide that holds depends on the concentration of the vial, which depends on how much water was added.
No. Animal doses are reported per kilogram for a different species, and scaling them to people is not reliable. That is why Upzo shows each study dose next to its study, unconverted.
